ABA 2008 Convention
Exhibitor Information
The Alaska Broadcasters Association and Alaska Public Broadcasters Inc, will be holding their 2008 convention at the Hilton Hotel Anchorage on November 13 & 14.
Booth space again this year will be $400. Online payment is available. Booth space will include table and chairs, signage, all costs for electrical hook ups, lunch (Thursday only), continental breakfast both days, and all breakouts. You will be emailed complete services information from Rowan when you return ABA registration form. Make sure you fill in your website address as we are going to add your link to our website exhibitor list.
Due to the large amount of exhibit materials received and the lack of storage space at the Hilton, exhibitors are asked by the Event Services Department at the Hilton to use the services of a drayage company. We have again contracted to use Rowan Event Services and Pacific Rim Decorators as our convention set up providers. In-bound ONLY freight service is:
1-200 lbs: $65.75
201-2000 lbs: .TBD per lb. (.28 in 2007)
2001-3000 lbs: .TBD per lb. (.26 in 2007)
Exhibitors will also need to contact Rowan if they wish to use their services for out bound shipping. Exhibitors can also arrange for their own carriers to pick up at the Hilton.
Rowan recommends Yellow Freight as a carrier, as exhibitors can ship directly to Anchorage via one carrier. An alternate is to ship via any carrier to Carlile Transportation Systems in Tacoma addressed to Rowan Event Services as they have a long-standing working relationship. Rowan of course accepts shipments from FedEx, UPS and all other carriers.

We will be having an exhibit hall type set up again at the Hilton; booths will be set up in the ballroom adjoining all of our sessions. All food and beverage service will be placed centrally in this room through out the day. Set up requirements for our banquet on Friday night necessitates that exhibit hall will close at 12:00 Noon and all equipment should removed from hotel ballroom by 2:00PM.
Set up for exhibitors will be on Wednesday November 12th starting around 4:30. We have reserved a room on site for the storage of your boxes and packing materials during the conference. This will make tear down efficient as they will not need to be trucked back to hotel.
The ABA has been given a special convention room rate of $95.00 for both single and double occupancy, $115 triple rate and $135 quad rate. So be sure to ask for the Alaska Broadcasters Association group rate when you reserve your room at:
